Song Exploder - Great Podcast

 Song Exploder is an awesome podcast created by Hrishikesh Hirway.  In Song Exploder, Hirway has a songwriter come on for every episode, and interviews them about their songwriting and recording process, focusing on one specific song.   Each episode is somewhere between 20-30 minutes, which I think is a great length, because it can be listened to at any time without being too much of a time commitment, but is long enough that they cover a lot of information.  Every episode starts out wth Hirway announcing which songwriter is being featured in that episode with some upbeat backing music to draw the listener in.  A few commercials then play, but they are only about a minute long, and they're for more music-related things, so its not a huge turn off.  Then, Hirway does a longer formal announcement of the songwriter, the band (if applicable) that the songwriter is from, and a brief background of the artist, while a snippet of the song they are going to discuss plays.  This acts as a nice transition into the interview portion of the podcast.  When the songwriter answers a question that pertains to a specific part of the song, Hirway will play that as a bit of a transition, which is great because it reinforces the information the listener has just heard, and makes it so that the podcast isn't all talking.  To end the podcast, the song that they discussed plays in its entirety as a conclusion to the podcast.
